playful circus | TERRA GALLERY

Last week we blogged about the dark circus photo shoot. Ironically enough that very same week we were working on this playful circus inspired wedding for Shirley and Elijah. It was interesting working on two circus inspired events with two very different tones and nuances.
As you could tell from the photos, Shirley and Elijah were open to creativity. They chose not to have typical bridal bouquets but rather floral lollipops. For Shirley’s bridal bouquet a typical hand tied arrangement would not do, instead she opted to have vibrant yellow and hot pink flowers ooze out of a cone.

The guys had circus embellishments too. Their boutonnieres were embellished with tiny pin wheels as were the centerpieces. We went minimal on the centerpieces but not on the colors. We used design elements such as jelly beans in apothecary jars and tiny banners that were stuck into the centerpieces.

When florals were used they really stood out. Whether jumping out of a moss coverings or sitting in glass vases, these floral silhouettes seemed to stand on their own and create their own mini circuses for the guest to enjoy.

A perfect venue to host a circus themed event was Terra Gallery. Their clean loft space and abstract art seemed to be the perfect venue to host Shirley and Elijah’s special day.

About Asiel Design

We believe design begins with a relationship of trust with your wedding planner and event designer. When choosing an event designer or a wedding coordinator, we believe that you should feel listened to, understood, and guided through the process in a way, which helps you achieve a look and feel that is personalized to your style. There should be a connection with the designer’s work, esthetic, and a comfort-ability with the professionalism of the company they represent. Mutual respect between the client and the wedding coordinator or event designer is the foundation to a successfully designed event. We believe it is the client who holds all the secrets to their design – what they like, what excites them, and the message and experience they desire to convey throughout their event.
