rachel and tommy | VILLA MONTALVO

One day Tanja Lippert called me and asked if she could come shoot her couples engagement pictures at our warehouse because her outside spot got rained out. I said “yes” and within minutes Tanja and her clients showed up at our door. That’s how we met Rachel and Tommy. They immediately fell in love with our 1800’s warehouse that is home to Asiel Design. They also fell in love with our design elements and within weeks they called us to do the floral design for their special day.
Rachel and Tommy got married at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga.  The Villa is one of our favorite south bay locations. They have beautiful gardens and the Villa itself is a great backdrop to any wedding. Rachel and Tommy’s wedding design is a good example of designing around the venue. When you have a wedding at a beautiful location you don’t want to cover it up but rather work around the architectural elements of the space to create a cohesive design.

The Villa has a Mediterranean feel and earth tones work well there so we used soft hues of pink, orange, peach, yellow and white. Rachel wanted the design to be classic yet have a modern feel so we used clear glass vessels and our chandelier stand to hold the centerpieces. Their outdoor ceremony had the same colors except we added rustic elements like birch wood and wrought iron that gave it a different feel. The same two looks worked well together.

In the end it was a beautiful day and beautiful wedding. Oh and thanks Tanja, don’t hesitate to call next time rain or shine☺

About Asiel Design

We believe design begins with a relationship of trust with your wedding planner and event designer. When choosing an event designer or a wedding coordinator, we believe that you should feel listened to, understood, and guided through the process in a way, which helps you achieve a look and feel that is personalized to your style. There should be a connection with the designer’s work, esthetic, and a comfort-ability with the professionalism of the company they represent. Mutual respect between the client and the wedding coordinator or event designer is the foundation to a successfully designed event. We believe it is the client who holds all the secrets to their design – what they like, what excites them, and the message and experience they desire to convey throughout their event.
